I should possibly add that I cannot wake if the machine was suspended
without external power

Hi
I initially had this issue and when I changed my Nvidia drivers to
Nvidia binary driver 361.45.18 the problem does not occur while the
power is plugged in. Ie I can wake from sleep if the machine was
suspended with external power plugged in.
