Is the package in xenial-proposed exactly the same as the one in `ppa
:ubuntu-audio-dev/pulse-testing` (based on the version, I'd say so)?
If so, then I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it fixed the

I can't comment on the reliability, since I've tested the procedure only

I've tried the 4.11 (rc8) mainline kernel, and the keyboard/touchpad
work out of the box.
Would be great to have it backported, but in absence of that, it's now
possible (although very awkard due to GUI issues, at least on XUbuntu)
to install [X]Ubuntu on an SP3, then install the 4.11 mainline ker

Thanks. I've also just noticed (and it's worth pointing out)
Still happening on Ubuntu 16.10 Final beta. Looks like the 16.10 kernel
works on some type 3 covers, but not others.

Same problem here, and the "magic sequence" solves the issue as well.
I had a similar sequence as well (it was using "HSP/HFP" in place of
"off"), which stopped working today.

These are my specs, sorry I didn't post these before.
Ales, I don't have an AMD/ATI video card.
I tried testing out kernels like Joseph suggested but my wifi stopped working
instead? and the problem wasn't resolved. So I reinstalled ubuntu 13.10 because
I like using this netbook for quick homew
The computer will power back on but the screen will be blank, it doesn't
even prompt me to put in my password to log in.
