It appears that 3.16.0-28-generic fixes this problem so I will not do a
full bisect. After successfully booting and decrypting my disks with
3.16.0-28-generic, I have just rebooted to 3.16.0-26-generic to confirm
that the issue is still present there. I assume that this issue should
now be closed.

Updating the BIOS doesn't change the behaviour described in the bug
description. It is still not possible to enter the disk encryption
passphrase at boot when running the 3.16.0-24-generic kernel. The

I can't provide logs due to the fact that this bug occurs at the very

Please note that the kernel version reported by apport-collect is not
the one with the problem. I have had to revert to my previous kernel in
order to use my system. The bug is with 3.16.0-24-generic.
