tested with 14.04 with upstream kernel 3.14, problem still exists
BUT: found a workaround:
- on resume, dont login from lockscreen, but 1)choose 'log in as different
user' 2)enter password and unlock from lightdm
(this became more difficult in 14.04 with new lockscreen)

touchscreen works perfect, but stops working on resume. not always:
sometimes after a few resumes (at least in kubuntu, since fresh install
and using unity: almost all the time)
curiously: on resume i can tap once, then it stops working.
