Workaround `sudo modprobe -r psmouse; sudo modprobe psmouse` still work

I had to bisect the Mainline kernels after all.
The highest kernel version that is not showing the issue is: Ubuntu-4.1.0-3.3
(Mainstream 4.1.3).
The next kernel version is Ubuntu-4.2.0-7.7 (Mainstream 4.2.0) and that is
showing the issue.
The tests in detail below.

I am now testing
4.0.0-4.7 Ubuntu-4.0.0-4.7 == Mainline 4.0.7
which happens to be 1 Mainline up from my last good Mainline.
If this works I will be going back to bisecting the Ubuntu kernels.

trying to install latest (today June 23rd) Ubuntu 14.04 server iso on HP
ML110 G7, and can't go past the Language screen.
How can this be still an issue without fix after such a long time?
Switching USB ports doesn't work for me.
Should I give up installing TT?!

sorry if my post wasn't detailed, but essentially:
- the hw is an HP ML110 G7 with USB keyboard
- the iso is the daily current Ubuntu server 64 bit
- when you get to the language page, the keyboard stops reacting and all you
can do is power off the machine.
