My hunch is that is a bug associated specifically with the tpm_infineon
driver. It is very rare these days, which explains the somewhat long
time line on discovering the bug.
It is better first to fix the HID issue first so that this can be
properly validated.

The specific commit ID would be b160c94be5d2816b62c8ac338605668304242959
that might fix the issue and it appeared first in v5.7-rc3.
