regression testing purposes, could you please test Quantal yourself via
http://releases.ubuntu.com/quantal/ and advise on if this is
reproducible?

I did not yet update the BIOS, with the old BIOS (updated some months
ago) I have still the problem.

upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the kernel in the
mainline kernels archive
I have updated to said kernel now and the problem still persists.
