file a new report by executing the following in a terminal while booted into a
Ubuntu repository kernel (not a mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug li
Kubuntu 13.04 and kubuntu 13.10: the rtl8192cu module is able to connect
to the wifi modem only if the modem is very near (1-2 meters). Randomly
the connection go down like the modem was turned off (but the modem is
still stand up).

upstream developer provided me a patch and firmware update, which I have
attached to the bug report.

Has the newest mainline kernel the solution ??? It's rather quiet here.
I'm having the same problem on Ubuntu 13.04 with kernel 3.10.09 (via
upubuntu.com).
The solution on

doesn't work.
Should I install 3.11RC7 ?
