just to add that on Windows 7, once Raltec Audio drivers are installed,
hardware volume knob started to work properly.
So both Linux (with all tested kernels) and windows (without additional
drivers) struggle to utilize hardware volume control.

Dariusz Panasiuk, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available
following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow
additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the
daily kernel folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've
no problem.
BIOS upgrade description doesn't mention anything about web cam but it
is still worth trying.
I have just burned CD fro ACPI Flash BIOS version 2.20 for Satellite
A305 (PSAGCU/PSAG8U)
I will run upgrade tonight and update you.

I have a very good news :-)
Even though after first boot with new BIOS web cam didn't work, on
subsequent boot it started to work.
It even works after resume from standby.
I didn't believe it could help, as BIOS upgrade description doesn't
mention anything about web cam.
