You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit with Gnome fallback
System starts with message the system is running in low graphics mode, the desktop does not come up, and the system is locked from all further entries. After one or more system restarts it boots normally. Problem discussed in http://askubuntu.com/questions/141606/how-to-fix-the-system-is- running-in-low-graphics-mode-error with several possible solutions. One that works is to sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf - as long as this file is gone, there are no more boot errors. However this file keeps re- appearing and it seems to be re-introduced by the update linux- firmware_1.79.9_all.deb. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: bot-comment -- low graphics mode boot error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1257058 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
