New Xubuntu 14.04 install on ThinkPad T61 same issue (black screen on
wake from sleep, long press power button only way to get back). Looks
like this is a patch? How do I install it/test it? (Newbie)

Just in case this is useful I reverted the changes in that commit which affects
two files:
drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_drv.c and
drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_fb.c
I thought originally it must be the changes in i915_drv so just reverted
those. This resulted in the system coming back from resume but I
