As suggested in Bug #1276700 and Bug #1284899 I installed linux- image-3.14.0-031400rc6-generic_3.14.0-031400rc6.201403100035_amd64 as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds and got the results following: When lid is closed * Do Nothing - Worked * Suspend - Made the screen
