I have the same issue. The sound card is recognized by the kernel and by
alsa, but it's not visible in pulseaudio.

I had audio before I upgraded from 13.04 to 13.10 and immediately to
Marking confirmed and added tag kernel-bug-exists-upstream as this was
tested by Mike Williamson in comment #5.

Well, that didn't help actually. When restarting pulseaudio it just
multiplies the dummy output device.

OK, I installed that kernel and everything is the same: no sound devices
and only the Dummy output device.
