penalvch, My goal in posting is/was to assist anyone else who finds this
bug report while searching this specific webcam hardware identifier. It
is related, but just not necessarily to you.
I can't blame the kernel for this issue, so I've created:
Brad (eosrei), given this report is scoped to the linux package (not
cheese or libjpg-turbo), and the original reporter of LP#1295247 hasn't
identified their hardware, it's not considered either related, or
containing more details.
Despite this, if you personally are having a webcam issue, it
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cheese/+bug/1295247 is related
and may contain more details.

Same problem here. The cam works perfectly on skype. Haven't tested if
it works in 13.10.

scoped to you, your hardware, or your problem. So your hardware and problem may
be tracked, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the

But why does it work in a previous Ubuntu release as stated in

?

I have the same problem with the same setup. Moreover, the webcam works
well with skype installed from the ubuntu partner repository; this must
be a problem of some library that skype statically links instead (?)
