I tried to create a Ubuntu virtual machine in 2nd Generation by copying the Vhdx from already booted machine in Hyper-v Generation 2,But it wont booted in Generation 2, shimx64.efi file was not created in while try to boot from the copied Vhdx. Then I tried your Workaround,It didn't work.Please

To highlight jleung's comments, what is going on is that generation 2 VM's require UEFI to boot, inform the UEFI boot manager of the OS (via registration of values in the NVRAM). The Ubuntu installer does this at installation time. What jlaeung's describing is converting to removal mode. I

There is a temporary workaround for this issue. That workaround is to: * Rename the /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu directory to /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT * In the newly renamed BOOT directory, rename shimx64.efi to bootx64.efi This should temporarily resolve the issue. -- You received this bug notification
