I found a workaround which should make the touchpad work in ps/2 mouse
emulation mode.

You need to add a Kernel Boot Parameter to set the flag i8042.nomux=1

Hi, sorry for the delay. I'm running the 3.17-rc5 kernel, but the
touchpad is still not working(it's still not listed under
/proc/bus/input/devices either).
