Ok the OOM killer is in play here so we have clearly run out of memory:

1) does UTAH configure the system with any swap, and
2) how much overhead
I will not be able to test this with the upstream kernels because this
bug occurs during an installation using an iso image. So the kernel will
have to be in the iso image for me to to further test this.
