Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer

v4.1 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following

If the mainline kernel does not fix
I have installed 4.1 and ran the smart test.
The kernel seems that is not crashing but many errors are found in the
log (see the attachment).
The drive is not usable anymore:
