I follow Zesty packages for amd64, and I confirm that the undesired behavior is no more reproduced starting from 4.8.0-27 and onwards. I avoid testing mainline builds and I will test 4.9.* only after it is packaged for Zesty/amd64. Now I am at 4.8.0-30 and the bug had gone away - most probably
