I got the same problem (slow speed of wifi) with the ATHEROS AR928X from an
Acer aspire AS3410T and with the ATHEROS AR9285 from an Asus X70IC. The two
computers under ubuntu 16.04 with the last update.

I have the same problem, xubuntu 16.04. the wireless works in windows xp with
speed of 150 mbps, however in ubuntu the wireless jumps from 39 mbps to 1 mbps
( most of the time 1 mbps). But I can connet

I'm running Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS (4.2.0-38-generic) with an Atheros AR928X
Wireless Network Adapter. WiFi works if I'm next to the WiFi base
station. If I move 5 metres away, it drops out.
