regarding this being fixed with an update. For future reference you can
manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the current status in
the yellow line
I got a pop up window about EOL and link helped me figure out how
to update to xenial under 14.04. With the 4.4.0 kernel my monitor
behaves properly. all is well for now

The last two kernel updates boot but the monitor stays in "power save"
mode, so i can't do anything from keyboard. I can login via ethernet.
The failing upgrades were 3.19.0-64 and 3.19.0-65. Everything
