I was pretty happy with Ubuntu's 4.8 kernel too since the keyboard
continued working, however unfortunately it now has stopped again at
4.8.0-17-generic and for some reason it still doesn't work when booting
to 4.8.0-11-generic with which I'd assume I have typed with the internal
keyboard as that
Timo Jyrinki, the next step is to fully reverse commit bisect from
kernel 4.4 to 4.7 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed
immediately by the first good one. Once this good commit has been
identified, it may be reviewed for backporting. Could you please do this

This is the first installation, no prior version.
This bug seems fixed with 4.7, luckily, since not requiring external
keyboard is neat. Sound (bug #1609750) would be next priority.

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
