I'm getting what appears to be the same error after gaming for a couple
hours. About 8 of 16 cores softlock. My Dmesg mentions my amdgpu as
well.
Ubuntu 18.04
4.15.0-33-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP
Someone with a similar error found it was their power supply. I'm going
to try a mainline kernel and see
Can you see if the fix in mainline was already cc'd to stable and in the
latest upstream 4.4 kernel? It can be downloaded from:

Thanks Joseph, with the 4.15-rc7 kernel, the system seems stable after
16 hours. With the 4.4 kernel, the lockups reproduce within 1-2 hours of
running the workload.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS with the 4.4.0-104-generic kernel, and
running a user-mode-linux heavy workload. Every now and then, the system
locks up and is subsequently reset by the hardware watchdog. I
