Public bug reported:

Problem Description

I have an issue that has been bugging me since I bought this computer: I
can't let it switch off the display after n minutes, because the HDMI
signal gets lost and the monitor turns off, only to turn on again after
a couple of seconds (without me touching the mouse or the keyboard).
Once turned on, I arrive to a f*cked up [XMonad] environment:

   - I can only see the desktop wallpaper, all the windows are gone*,
   - xfce4-panel is gone*,
   - xmobar is gone*.
   - Sometimes, it stops responding to XMonad keyboard shortcuts, but when that
works, after I, say, open a terminal window, the rest of the windows on that
workspace also appear.

* "Gone" as in invisible as far as I can tell, because I can see the
processes still running using top.

Instead, I have to manually switch the monitor off when i'm done
computing. I'm wondering if this is a driver issue or what? I'm on AMD
Ryzen 3 3200G with Vega graphics (Picasso), using XUbuntu 20.04.

I have the very same setup on my laptop and it works flawlessly.

What made me think it's drivers is the fact that my XFCE Power Manager
is also screwed, because it doesn't show the option to set the
brightness, for example, whereas my laptop lets me do that.

I tried to install the latest drivers however the problem persists.
