Title:
[jammy] Laptop monitor does not turn
This appears to be caused (for me at least) by upower 0.99.16-1 - after
upgrading today to 0.99.16-2 things are working again as expected.
** Also affects: upower (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #1006368
The problem doesn't appear to be universal. I've just installed jammy
2022-02-28 on a laptop, plugged in a monitor and keyboard and closed the
lid. But for me everything works correctly - the laptop screen is no
longer part of the desktop.

things seem to be working.
Clam shell mode works.
Tested booting the laptop and then plugging in the HDMI and Hub. After closing
the lid it immediately switched to using the external monitor as default.

Yes that probably eliminates Mutter from the equation. Sounds more
likely to be a kernel regression or something in between like gnome-
settings-daemon.

Hi Daniel, not a problem I will try a few kernels out.
Just to add I noticed over the weekend, when using the laptop on it own it
doesn't suspend anymore when closing the lid.
All related I'm guessing.
Thanks
