Title:
  Touchpad not being detected

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Details as mentioned here - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection
  Laptop model - HP ProBook 450 G3
  Touchpad manufacturer - Synaptics
Seeing issue since - Not sure, a few months

My touchpad started malfunctioning (pointer moving by itself). To be
able to finish my work, I had disabled my touchpad temporarily using
"xinput disable <id-number-of-touchpad". But when I tried to re-enable
it again, I could no longer find the touchpad in the "xinput --list"
  output.

Output of "cat /proc/bus/input/devices" also no longer shows the
  touchpad (the output is attached)
