With regard to myself, I can live with switching the kernel each time I need to
use the camera, and eventually I will migrate to 14.04, but the bug is still
valid and I don't know how who else is having the same problem.

Dear Christopher, I've tested this bug on a live session of 14.04 as per
27-12-2013 and the camera works fine, so the issue is not there any more.
It persist though on the 12.04 stock, so at the moment when I need to use this
camera I use an upstream kernel.
