ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04
Package: linux-image-3.19.0-42-generic 3.19.0-42.48~14.04.1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-42.48~14.04.1-generic 3.19.8-ckt10
According to my test results both 3.14 (3.14.58) and 3.15 (3.15.10) are
good kernel branch. I think that problem is somewhere in 3.16 kernel
branch. With kernels 3.16rc1 and 3.16rc2 I can see only blinking cursor,
but it seems that resuming from suspend mode working with those kernels.

David Ing, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the
latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of
the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D
(the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test
the daily folder)?
I can also confirm the issue on Amazon AWS t2.nano
