Ah, excuse my confusion. I'd missed that Joseph Salisbury works at
Canonical.
Joseph, could you increase the priority of this bug? It makes many (of
not all) of the Skylake-based Lenovo laptops unusable, and there is a
working patch which has been accepted upstream (albeit for 4.6.x not
4.4.x). Wh

I am flagging this as a linux bug because it occurs after an update of

As a side note, what would be the process to safely "rollback" these
package updates? Synaptic does not let me force the meta-packages to the
previous version, and simply removing the kernel headers and image
sounds scary...

Hello,
I just found this bug report and I just want to say thanks for everyone
who helped make this work. I have an Asus UX302LG laptop and I really
needed my card reader so your work helped me a lot.
I know this is offtopic and doesn't help with the discussion but I
thought it needed to be said.
I am also just having this issue when restarting since trying to install
the upstream. Which is strange since it is from 2013.

Maybe just a coincidence..

The 4.4.0-16 kernel gave me a freeze too recently. Ran really long

So I am basically back to where I was when I reported this, with the difference
that the BIOS is the latest now.
I am not sure how to continue troubleshooting
I am sorry I do not know any specifics on the version. I was somewhere
