I've built a test kernel for Ubuntu Xenial 16.04 (amd64) which comprised of
4.4.0-22.40 plus:
[mainline] 50220de HID: core: prevent out-of-bound readings
The test kernel is here (most users will only need to 'dpkg -i' install
the linux-image-4.4.0...deb):
The same error appeared in 4.6.1 for amd64 . 4.6.0 works without problem.

Doug, you added the tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream' but I don't think we

there more information elsewhere?

Related to ID #1583357 in regards to the LIS improvements rebase to the 4.6

These are to fix the kdump feature when running on a Hyper-V VM, as the crash
scenarios might not always work for 16.04.

Public bug reported:
Version 0.6.5.7 was released 21 ago, this is the changelog:
https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/releases/tag/zfs-0.6.5.7
Since Ubuntu is now shipping ZFS we can't rely on the ppa anymore to
provide up to date packages. This point release also fixes a few minor
bugs and
zfsutils-linux has 0.6.5.7, but linux-image-4.4.0-23-generic only has
0.6.5.6.
