That was an endeavour! I should have done it before installing Ubuntu. The
machine has only 32GB of eMMC
Colin had the hunch that this actually happens if the CPUs do *not* have
anything to do, i. e. want to go into a low freq/power state. We
successfully ran the full stress-ng test suite on the instance without
triggering any of this, but a few minutes after it was done it started
hung processes
Neither did this trigger on two trusty 4-cpu instances so far.

Hi Christopher, I am using the kernel from upstream. This bug seems to
be related with DHCP. It seems having a hard time getting connection
when set to DHCP. I gave the laptop a static IP address and it is able
to connect to wifi every time. Won't be comfortable bringing this laptop
anywhere

the bug is not fixed in 4.7.0-040700rc3-generic
(same behaviour)
