Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.8 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix

uname -a
Linux rybu-ThinkPad-W530 4.4.16-040416-generic #201607271333 SMP Wed Jul 27
17:35:45 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

That indicates the bug is either already fixed in upstream 4.4.16 or
it's an Ubuntu specific bug.
To confirm it's now fixed upstream, can you test 4.4.15. It should
contain the bug, since Ubuntu 4.4.0-34 had those stable updates and not
the 4.4.16 stable updates.
The 4.4.15 kernel can be

Balbir,
Both Mike and Joe are out the rest of this week on holiday. Any chance
you could give this kernel a spin?

I build a v4.8-rc1 kernel using the Xenial 4.4 kernel configs. This set
of configs set CONFIG_VIRTUALIZATION and CONFIG_KVM.
This test kernel can be downloaded from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1602577/v4.8-rc1With4.4Configs/
Can you give this test kernel a test?
