Tried the new bios 1.02.13 and sure enough, it resulted in the issues
reported in the previous link.
It wakes up with the screen turned off. I was able to login by turning
the backlight up to full brightness (press Fn+F12 until screen turns
on). After login the backlight cannot be adjusted it's

Update 3 which hasn't been released as of yet.

Just tested with 4.8-rc4: no ethernet, no bluetooth at all and graphics
defaults to VGA only.
Booted back to the stock ubuntu xenial kernel and bluetooth/network is back up
running.
Looks to me like a massive regression.
All tested on an X220 laptop.

When suspending via closing lid or sudo pm-suspend, doesn't always suspend and
when resuming the laptop restarts. Suspend resume works fine when the laptop is
plugged in, the problem always appears when on battery.

Maybe its a dedicated GPU Fan Controlled by the GPU? Try installing the
lastest Nvidia Drivers, use mainline 4.6 for that and the Nvidia Drivers
ppa.

Not that I'm aware of. I had 32bit and 64bit versions running and it was
fine. Though I did most development under 32bit prior to 16.04 but some
also under 64bit.

I tried 4.7 mainline and 4.8 mainline and still one of two fans in my
laptop run at 100%. (I have Clevo with Skylake desktop CPU).
