What was the expected behavior from your perspective?
The ZFS utilities are useless without a ZFS kernel module. It seems to
me that this is working fine, and installing the ZFS utilities in this

Looks I can re-create this issue.
Just as a workaround, one may edit /etc/netplan/01-netcfg.yaml
do the configuration in a persistent way there and do a netplan apply:

$ sudo netplan apply

Hi Aaron,
I appended r8822be driver to blacklist.conf and then manually ran "sudo
update-initramfs -u -k 5.0.0-21-generic" and rebooted. Still no wifi,
however.
I have attached the output of dmesg. BTW this notebook has Realtek
ethernet hardware, which is why kernel driver r8169 is loaded.
