I've used Ubuntu on this specific machine for years without problems,
but starting with the 4.13 kernel that came with the 17.10
I have the same problem myself too. After updating my creative camera
does not work (only the microphone does).

and cfg#3 which is cdc_mbim , usb_modeswitch will select the linux
