Noticed a 6.2.0-26 kernel was released and updated.
updated/installed it, and booted into it.
And... nvidia loads and works again.
Feels a bit like a lottery, but happy still can use my investment with

So far I have not had either bug recur with thermald uninstalled, I'm
satisfied that thermald was the culprit for bug one. Running `stress -c
2` (highest possible thermal load) doesn't trigger anything.
The grep on this run is
