The keyboard and touchpad work fine in BIOS setup and till GRUB (command line). To confirm these are not hardware problems, Microsoft Windows 11 (Home) was installed in another disk partition and observed all these working alright. Hello Chris, or anyone else affected, Accepted firmware-sof into lunar-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firmware- sof/2.2.4+2.2.6-0ubuntu0.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed- lunar to verification-done-lunar. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification- failed-lunar. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. Another +1 on -proposed mutter. It solves the problem for me too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2034619 Title: [amdgpu] gnome-shell gets SIGKILL'd when lock screen or under heavy load in Wayland Status in Linux: New Status in Mutter: Fix Released Status in X.Org X server: Fix Released Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in linux source package in Mantic: Triaged Status in mutter source package in Mantic: Fix Committed Bug description: [ Impact ] gnome-shell gets unceremoniously SIGKILLed on some Ryzen systems, sometimes when the screen locks, sometimes when launching particular apps. [ Workaround ] Add this to /etc/environment: MUTTER_DEBUG_KMS_THREAD_TYPE=user and then reboot. [ Test Plan ] Not all Ryzen systems (including one I just purchased) are able to reproduce the bug. We have no choice but to leave final verification to the community. Anyone affected should try locking their screen and verify they are not instantly returned to the login screen. [ Where problems could occur ] Anywhere in frame scheduling and particularly for mouse cursor movement since that's what the real-time thread exists to optimize. [ Original Description ] I have this issue on Ubuntu 23.10. Lock screen works only with an external monitor connected. Otherwise the session is ended and the user is logged out and brought to the gdm screen. All works in xorg. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 2042706] Re: Kubuntu 23.10 freezes
Thank you for the advice, however today I was unable to boot Kubuntu 23.10 with the 6.5 kernel. I.e. I was not able to login and run the `apport-collect 2042706` command: the system went to the "IO error" state. Occasionally, after reboots to the 6.5 kernel, my computer's UEFI would state that "hard drive is missing". E.g. today I made around 10 reboots already and seen this happen once. But after another reboot, the error goes away and boot sequence proceeds to the bootloader. Also there are some occasional messages about errors with my NVME drive. I have made a few photos (sorry, there isn't much else I can do in this state of my system). Hopefully, that hints towards something. It may seem like my NVME drive is failing, but that does not explain the fact that with the 6.2 kernel everything just works (I am writing this comment using the 6.2 kernel). I will run the suggested apport-collect command using the 6.2 kernel (since I am unable to do so with the 6.5 kernel). ** Attachment added: "I/O error even in the tty" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2042706/+attachment/5715882/+files/PXL_20231104_113418448.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2042706 Title: Kubuntu 23.10 freezes Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have upgraded from Kubuntu 23.04 to Kubuntu 23.10. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 2009952] Re: [amdgpu][psr] Screen flickering/ tearing on 6.1/6.2/6.3 kernel
I met the bug, only 'amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10' can solved it. I have tested the lastest kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-oem-6.1 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2009952 Title: [amdgpu][psr] Screen flickering/ tearing on 6.1/6.2/6.3 kernel Status in linux package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in linux-oem-6.1 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux-oem-6.1 source package in Jammy: Confirmed Bug description: After upgrading from kernel 5.19.0-35-generic to 6.1.0-1007-oem there is occasional screen flicker/ tear. It happens around every minute; it seems connected to window/ pointer movement, but I have no clear way of reproducing. Disruption is minor, but annoying. I'm running 22.04 LTS on a new Thinkpad T14s with AMD Ryzen 6850u. The system is fully functional. No crashes, nothing breaks. Background on the use of 6.1.0-1007-oem: 5.19.0-35-generic breaks suspend/ resume on my laptop, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-5.19/+bug/2007718. In a way, running 6.1 is a 'flight forward', since 5.15.0-67-generic (previous 22.04.1 LTS kernel) works well, with working suspend/ resume, and without screen flicker. But that's an 'old' kernel now, missing some nice improvements for the newer Ryzen APUs.
