Pawel Groniecki, the next step is to bisect from 13.04 to 13.10 in order
to identify the offending commit.
Upgraded to the latest BIOS, bug still present.
Here's what I did:
1. echo min_power |sudo tee
/sys/class/scsi_host/host*/link_power_management_policy
2. Provoked disk activity by starting Firefox. Everything hangs for a while,
messages in dmesg pasted below.
3. Returned to normal operation

Actually, I believe an update to the Crucial SSD drive's firmware solved
this problem (I forgot to update this bug). For future reference, the
firmware can be downloaded from here:

Hello,
on several other EEEPC's I run (700 4G and 900a) the installation run
without any problem. Also on the hhnb06 (a 700 4G, 2GB memory, but
'system disk' on an 32GB USB stick (internal flash defect...)) the instalation
went fine after reboot of the machine. I think this bug can be closed

While attempting to build bcmwl-kernel-source with DKMS (all automatic)
a segmentation fault occurs and the system claims there is a bug in the
kernel.
Copy/paste not possible and logs aren't saved so will update soon
(testing upstream kernels).

[BCM4311] Segmentation fault
I had some more time to work on this problem. After more research and
reading more information I discovered that IOMMU was not enabled on my
system. To enable IOMMU I performed the following steps on my Ubuntu
Linux server:
sudo vi /etc/default/grub
Add “intel_iommu=on” to the
