somewhere, change my BIOS settings to activate legacy support (otherwise
it would not boot), then start the BIOS update utility. Those were some

What you people are forgetting is that RAID1 is in fact the PERFECT backup
solution:
It takes a low level copy of the whole system while the system is *running*,
and as opposed to cp/rsync, the copy is *coherent*:
Programmers do NOT design software to be robust against their files being

Also, keep on mind that the most commonly used personal computers
nowadays don't even *support* adding multiple disks of the same type:
Laptops. They only have one HD slot, so I *must* use USB to attach the

Verified with 3.16.0-30, the audio mute LED still not working.
Another major blocker on this system is the fglrx driver issue, since
the newer driver will be backported to Trusty, it will be great to have
this fixed in Trusty too, thus we will be able to certify it with 3.13
LTS kernel.

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

I have the same symptoms only _after_ upgrading to 3.13.0-44-generic.
Can you test an earlier kernel version and see if the problem goes away?

No live DE in Vivid usi
In the meantime, I decided 14.04 was unusable.for me.
So I've done a fresh install of Vivid (15.04-to-be) daily version. That has
linux kernel 3.18, right? In one hour of usage, I've not seen the error message
in dmesg.
