This patch has been already accepted by the maintainer for alsa-devel
and would be a part of v4.8-rc5 kernel release. For Xenial, the oem-

Just to make you aware, there will be patch(es) coming ~WW40 or later to
fix the current upstream ixgbe and ixgbevf drivers to work with B0
silicon. We are hoping to get these into the 4.8 kernel before the
kernel release, but may have to go through the stable-kernel tree if the

I had a slight misunderstanding when I looked at the code previously.
The copy up is of the parent directory, which makes sense because it
needs to modify one of the dirents in that directory. Which by extension

I built a Xenial test kernel with the first patch from Alex and the
patch from faulpeltz. The test kernel can be downloaded from:

A little backporting is needed to get the patches to apply to Trusty,
