Ubuntu crashes on Intel j4205 Apollo Lake

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I'm using Ubuntu 17.04 on ASRock j4205-ITX with BIOS v1.20. ASRock
states that this platform is supported by Ubuntu 16.10 but after
installation it kept freezing after few minuts. There was no trace of
error in dmesg nor in any log. Not even a crashdump. After
installation of Ubuntu 17.04 I was able to see an error:

Title:
  4.4.0-83-generic + Docker + EC2 frequently crashes at cgroup_rmdir GPF

Status in docker package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
We run xenial-based Docker container hosts on EC2 with Amazon ECS.
Recently we refreshed our base image, we started to see frequent
  panic.

Hosts run Amazon ECS Agent, and the agent automatically creates or
destroys Docker container based on requests onto ECS cluster.

I think this crash is caused by Docker-related operations, because
  crashing at cgroups.

Also, we're running several different cluster with another EC2
instance types, using same image. This problem is only reproducing at
t2.small instances. (We also run c4.large and m4.* clusters)

Our previous image ran 4.4.0-79-generic, and we see no problem with
  79.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1703249] Re: package linux-image-4.10.0-26-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: подпроцесс новый сценарий pre-installation возвратил код ошибки 1

2017-07-09 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend
performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to
New. Thanks and good luck!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Title:
  Laptop hangs on wake-up

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I've installed 64-bit 17.04 recently. The system hangs in 100% cases after
closing/opening the laptop cover (or just choosing "Sleep" from menu). On
wake-up it turns on coolers, LED indicators, but the display remains black and
the laptop does not react on any key. Turning it off by power button does not
help: it remains "black screen" and not-operable, i. e. I cannot even enter
BIOS setup, etc.
To make the laptop bootable again I have to unplug the power supply, remove
battery, wait for several seconds, insert the battery back and then press
"power" button.

I have another one, but 32-bit Ubuntu 17.04 Mate on other HDD
partition. It does not have that problem with sleep mode. So, 32-bit
  wakes up, 64-bit hangs.

BTW: I've tried Linux Mint 18.01 Mate 32-bit and 64-bit editions: both
  hanged on wake-up. Older versions (Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit,14.04 32-bit,
Linux Mint 17 Mate 32-bit) worked flawlessly. I do not know if it is
important, but proprietary AMD video driver was installed on older
  systems.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1701171] Re: Laptop hangs on wake-up

2017-07-09 Thread Andrew
I have tested it with the mainline kernel 4.12 (generic and low-
latency). The bug is still there. I've notice that if I've unplugged the
power adapter before trying to wake the laptop up the, sometimes it
wakes up successfully, what never happens if the power adapter is
pluggen in.

I have attached the dmesg output and a fragment of system log from boot
till sleep, which hanged.
