OK, I desoldered the flash and dumped the firmware. The chip is indeed a
remarked TPS65983 (possibly TPS65983B, it's not entirely clear) and out

The kernel you provided me works, but only half of it.
If I boot the above kernel it gives me the login screen, so it loads the driver
