[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1810636] Re: QCA6174 doesn't utilise btcoex - Ubuntu 18 Bluetooth Audio Skip/Stutter/Delay WiFi bandwidth conflict Dell XPS 9570
No, ath10k_pci is not included in the initramfs so replace firmware alone is sufficient. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1810636 Title: QCA6174 doesn't utilise btcoex - Ubuntu 18 Bluetooth Audio Skip/Stutter/Delay WiFi bandwidth conflict Dell XPS 9570 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm running Linux 4.20.0-042000-generic #201812232030 x64 on a Dell XPS 9570 with QCA6174 chipset, and have had the problem with Bluetooth audio choppiness ever since I have owned this laptop. This problem has persisted for me with previous kernels. If I disable wifi and use media on machine locally, the problem doesn't occur. Note: I've reverted back v4.18.0-13-generic and reproduced the problem for the apport-collect report. It started with Ubuntu 18.04 and continues with 18.10. It's particularly noticeable when the when saturating the WLAN connection with throughput, i.e. copying a large file sequentially across from a samba share, but also streaming video online results in the audio progressively delaying over-time. Re-establishing the Bluetooth audio sync restores the sync, but slowly creeps out again. I've upgraded my linux-firmware package to disco 176 to match v4.20 kernel drivers ref: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux- firmware/1.176 The ath10k_core driver that supports this device has a reference for btcoex: ref https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath10k/core.c?h=v4.20#n2598 It's possible that the Bluetooth component firmware is not supporting or communicating btcoex compatibility, but this is starting to reach the edge of my ability to diagnose the problem. This btcoex support in ath9k has resolved/improved the Bluetooth bandwidth problem for older Qualcomm chipsets as shown in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1746164 As a troubleshooting step, I've also tried the very latest firmware-6 file from, but I'm continuing to experience the problem ref: https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware/tree/master/QCA6174/hw3.0/4.4.1 --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu13.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: berg 2871 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-07-02 (187 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) MachineType: Dell Inc. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1785964] Re: Unable to unlock the desktop session: systemd-logind: got pause for 13:69
Thanks Diego. A similar situation here today. The whole Christmas season at home no issues at all - many suspends (lid close), with and without power supply. Coming today to the office, boom, unlock screen freeze after providing the password. One more hint - I've got the same SSID at home and my office. But different IP networks, thus the WLAN card has to acquire an address each time coming to the office. Again, nothing special in the logs, besides what was already mentioned above. Cheers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1785964 Title: Unable to unlock the desktop session: systemd-logind: got pause for 13:69 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: When this issue happens, you won't be able to unlock your desktop session (VT works fine). [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1810619] Re: Sleep mode doesn't work
This is because this change gets included: commit 684bec1092b6991ff2a7751e8a763898576eb5c2 Author: Daniel Drake Date: Mon Oct 1 15:55:22 2018 -0700 Input: i8042 - enable keyboard wakeups by default when s2idle is used Previously, on typical consumer laptops, pressing a key on the keyboard when the system is in suspend would cause it to wake up (default or unconditional behaviour). This happens because the EC generates a SCI interrupt in this scenario. That is no longer true on modern laptops based on Intel WhiskeyLake, including Acer Swift SF314-55G, Asus UX333FA, Asus UX433FN and Asus UX533FD. We confirmed with Asus EC engineers that the "Modern Standby" design has been modified so that the EC no longer generates a SCI in this case; the keyboard controller itself should be used for wakeup. In order to retain the standard behaviour of being able to use the keyboard to wake up the system, enable serio wakeups by default on platforms that are using s2idle. This change makes the keyboard wakeup behavior in aligned with other major OS (i.e. Windows and macOS). This can be changed to the "old" behavior by the following: # echo disabled > /sys/bus/serio/devices/serio0/power/wakeup -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1810619 Title: Sleep mode doesn't work Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: On my Dell XPS 13 laptop (9370), the sleep mode dosn't work anymore with linux-image-4.18.0-13. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1806681]
Hi, This issue seems not to be only a warning / developer specific log message. An "HP Elite x2 1013 G3" has no working "hp-wmi" sysfs entries at all. E.g. trying to output "/sys/devices/platform/hp-wmi/als" results in the reported log message. As error code 0x05 indicates "invalid parameters" my guess would be that another variant of the "hp_wmi_bios_2009_later()" would be required or that the WMI methods have been removed. I would appreciate to provide more details if guided how to further debug / receive details needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1806681 Title: hp_wmi: query 0xd returned error 0x5 Status in Linux: Confirmed Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello, dmesg: [ 18.296366] hp_wmi: query 0xd returned error 0x5 Best regards, -- Cristian Aravena Romero (caravena) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 Package: linux-image-4.18.0-11-generic 4.18.0-11.12 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-11.12-generic 4.18.12 Uname: Linux 4.18.0-11-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu14 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: caravena 2739 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Tue Dec 4 09:05:38 2018 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=efcf081f-0bb0-4907-b78c-1299aa4aee57 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-12-02 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180725) MachineType: HP HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0xxx ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/@/boot/vmlinuz-4.18.0-11-generic root=UUID=28bdadba-133c-4f5b-a5c9-b06993ea7ce2 ro rootflags=subvol=@ quiet splash vt.handoff=1 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-4.18.0-11-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-4.18.0-11-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.176 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to disco on 2018-12-02 (1 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 06/14/2018 dmi.bios.vendor: Insyde dmi.bios.version: F.13 dmi.board.asset.tag: Type2 - Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 8486 dmi.board.vendor: HP dmi.board.version: 72.19 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Chassis Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 31 dmi.chassis.vendor: HP dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnInsyde:bvrF.13:bd06/14/2018:svnHP:pnHPPavilionx360Convertible14-cd0xxx:pvrType1ProductConfigId:rvnHP:rn8486:rvr72.19:cvnHP:ct31:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.family: 103C_5335KV HP Pavilion dmi.product.name: HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-cd0xxx dmi.product.sku: 3PX63LA#ABM dmi.product.version: Type1ProductConfigId dmi.sys.vendor: HP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1806681/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
