Sound issues with kernel

KUbuntu 19.04
Upon kernel update from 5.0.0-29 to 5.0.0-31 audio cuts out after a few
minutes.
Booting from 5.0.0-31 media playback is normal but sound cuts out after
5-10 minutes. Restarting pulseaudio resolves the issue temporarily,
however it cuts out again in 5-10

I've just tested this again after upgrading to kernel 5.0.0-31 - the
problem is still here. Sound device goes into "powersave" after 6 to 7
seconds without sound output, which is audible on non-grounded speakers
as a buzzing noise. As in my comment #29, turning off the power
"optimisation" fixes
This is also found on a Cannon Lake Intel SDP with Xeon E-2176G running
v5.4-rc1 kernel.
