Bug description:
I had the following drives mounted:
/media/robert/Shared - a second partition of the first internal hard drive
with an NTFS
/media/robert/4TB LaCie - an external USB 3 drive with an NTFS
/media/robert/4TB G-Drive - an external USB 3 drive with an NTFS
/media/robert/4TB Seagate 1 - an external USB 3 drive with an NTFS file system
/media/robert/4TB Seagate 2 - an external USB 3 drive with an NTFS file system
/media/robert/4TB Seagate 3 - an external USB 3 drive with an HFS+ file system
/media/robert/4TB Seagate 5 - an external USB 3 drive with an NTFS file system
/media/robert/5TB Seagate 1 - an external USB 3 drive with an ext4 file system

Detected but not mounted were:
Win10 - a partition on my second hard drive with an NTFS file system
U MATE 14 - a partition on my second hard drive with an ext4 file system
Windows10 - a partition on my second hard drive with an NTFS file system
701 GB Volume - a partition on my second hard drive with an ext4 file system
83 GB Volume - a partition on my second hard drive with an ext4 file system

Also attached but not detected is a 6TB Seagate USB 3 drive.

The HFS+ files system was using hfs package.

I was copying files from a directory in 4TB Seagate 3 to 4TB Seagate 1
using the Terminal cp -anR command. Once all the files had been copied
I intended to reformat the drive with a NTFS file system.

I was using VueScan and it began misbehaving after I had deleted and
renamed some directories with CAJA. I exited VueScan and tried to
restart it. The initial splash screen displayed, then the program
hang. I tried it again. Same results.

I aborted the terminal copy and did a system shutdown. I saw the
Ubuntu shutdown screen. I waited, and waited. I went to bed. After 8
hours the shutdown screen was still being displayed. I had to turn the
power off. Then I disconnected most of the external drives. I turned
power back on and rebooted.

The 6TB drive did appear and was mounted. I had to disconnect-
reconnect the 4TB Seagate 3 (HFS+ file system) a number of times and
reboot before it would mount.

VueScan started properly and works fine. It had been working properly
before - the error was that Caja would not show the newly scanned
files that VueScan produced. After restarting Ubuntu they showed up
proving that VueScan was not at fault.

Caja is complaining when I try to delete files - see attachment,

  Caja after the latest update takes minutes to open a menu and it takes

  Request to include below mpt3sas driver bug fix patches in Ubuntu
  22.04 kernel. These patches got accepted by the upstream and please
  find the corresponding commit IDs as below,

  5db207d66d mpt3sas: Fix incorrect 4gb boundary check
  ca23ac823c mpt3sas: Remove scsi_dma_map errors messages
  9211faa39a scsi: mpt3sas: Update persistent trigger pages from sysfs interface

  Below is the summary of each of the above bug fix commits,

  1. mpt3sas: Fix incorrect 4gb boundary check:
 Without this patch, driver was checking whether any of it's pool crosses 
the 4gb boundary or not using the pool's virtual address instead of using it's 
dma address. So some time driver may false positively assume that the pool as 
crossed the 4gb boundary region (as it observes that pool's virtual address is 
crossing the 4gb boundary) even though it is really not.

  2. mpt3sas: Remove scsi_dma_map errors messages:
 When driver set the DMA mask to 32bit then we observe that the SWIOTLB 
bounce buffers are getting exhausted quickly. For most of the IOs driver 
observe that scsi_dma_map() API returned with failure status and hence driver 
was printing below error message. Since this error message is getting printed 
per IO and if user issues heavy IOs then we observe that kernel overwhelmed 
with this error message. Also we will observe the kernel panic when the serial 
console is enabled. So to limit this issue, we removed this error message 
though this patch.
  "scsi_dma_map failed: request for 1310720 bytes!"  

  3. mpt3sas: Update persistent trigger pages from sysfs interface:
 When user set's any diag buffer trigger conditions then driver has to save 
these trigger conditions in the controller Firmware's NVRAM region. So that 
when system reboots then driver can get these trigger conditions from 
Firmware's NVRAM region and set these trigger conditions automatically. so that 
user no need to set these conditions again. Without this patch driver was not 
not saving these user provided trigger conditions in the Firmware's NVRAM 
region.

  I tried to combined one bug report with one related question hoping
  this is fine.

  I've noticed the following error when booting on my ubuntu partition:

  I did not really worried about that first. But then when I wanted to
  reduce my battery draining on my ubuntu partition (half of the battery
  life on my windows partition for similar usage) I've seen that
  disabling my discrete graphic card could be one thing to try to reduce
  power consumption. So I thought about using (i) acpi_call as stated or
  (ii) vga_switcheroo as stated in
  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HybridGraphics . However, for (i) I
  need to know the correct calls to send to ACPI and my latptop is not
  listed here: https://hybrid-graphics-
  linux.tuxfamily.org/index.php?title=ACPI_calls and obviously the call
  that the kernel is trying to send at boot (for whatever reason) is
  also wrong. For (ii) I think that vga_switcheroo is also using
  acpi_call under the hood to disable the discrete graphic card. Which
  leads now to:

  -Question-
  Can I use vga_switcheroo knowing that my kernel is sending false acpi_call? I 
just want to be really sure about what I'm doing here because the doc states to 
modifiy the grub config and I'm really not confortable with dealing with the 
boot manager knowing the above bug. Is there a way to find the correct ACPI 
call?

Bug description:
  Issue found on Jammy 5.17.0-8-generic #8~22.04.2-Ubuntu and Jammy
  5.15.0-27-generic with ARM64 node helo-kernel only.

  It looks like this is hardware-specific.

  The read_all_sys test in fs from ubuntu_ltp will cause kernel oops and
  test will timeout.

Hi,

I created a script to help me get some deb files for installation on machines 
that will not be on the network.  I am using apt-get to figure out the URL for 
the packages I need.  This fails for this one case:
apt-get install -y linux-image-extra-virtual --reinstall --print-uris

I can track down the URI manually, but the above command does not yield it.  If 
I do a standard apt-get install using that package name on a machine that does 
have internet access, it downloads correctly, but trying to use the 
--print-uris fails; it only gets the dependency
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-meta/linux-image-generic_5.4.0.113.117_amd64.deb
and not the linux-image-extra-virtual.

This is for Ubuntu 20.04.
