I'm having the same flickering issue with Ubuntu 18.04 image from the
dell recovery image. And I also tried Ubuntu 22.04
It worked fine before and the flickering started when I changed the motherboard.
I've tried most of the flags on the grub config but the only one that worked
was `nomodeset`

The same symptoms: random freezes, sometimes I can only move the mouse and
nothing else, and other times everything freezes.
