[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2004087] [NEW] Azure: Fix TDX backport

2023-01-28 Thread Tim Gardner
Public bug reported:

SRU Justification

[Impact]

A backport caused by a stable updates rebase was not performed
correctly. The symptom is a failure to boot on TDX enabled hypervisors.

[Fix]

Make sure the sources match those of 'https://github.com/dcui/tdx.git
decui/upstream-kinetic-22.10/master-next/1209'.

[Test Plan]

Boot on a TDX enabled hypervisor. Tested by Gauthier Jolly.

[Where things could go wrong]

This is a new feature isolated to TDX, so there is little chance of
regression.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2002537] Re: kernel 5.19.0-xx-generic fails to install

That issue was due to faulty fwts packages (fwts, fwts-frontend and
fwts-efi-runtime-dkms)
. After purging those, the reported issue is now gone.

2023-01-28 Thread madigal
FWTS packages (fwts, fwts-frontend and fwts-efi-runtime-dkms) was the
real issue ending to several problems: kernel installation failing to
configurate, unremovable packages (partials that cant be purged)

So purging these tree packages has resolved the problem reported here.
Several fwts bugs have already been reported.

Title:
linux-oem-22.04 should point to the latest of the linux-oem-22.04*
  kernels and not the first

Status in linux-meta-oem-5.17 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The description of this package says: "This package will always depend
on the latest complete OEM Linux kernel and headers." but, despite
Ubuntu 22.04 having 3 different versions of the oem kernels (linux-
  oem-22.04a, linux-oem-22.04b and linux-oem-22.04c), this meta package
points to the first (linux-oem-22.04a) instead of the last (linux-
  oem-22.04c).

There should be a way to install a meta package pointing always to the
latest complete OEM Linux kernel and headers.

Network bridge issue after updating kernel to 5.4.0-137

Status in linux-meta package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hello,

After updating the kernel from 5.4.0-136 to 5.4.0-137 network bridge are not
working any more.
I can see the bridge with "ip add show" or "brctl show". Network is up and I
can reach the full network from the host through the bridge.

VM on the host can not reach network or host and host can not reach
  the VM through the bridge.

We have bonded interface used in the bridge and one bridge without IP
and one with an IP. DHCP is off on booth bridge.

Downgrading the kernel to 5.4.136 (Ubuntu 5.4.0-136.153-generic
  5.4.218) seem to work fine.

  Thank you for your help.
