I have the same problem on the ASUS UX31A (problem is known).
Disabling n-Standard is not really a solution but a very dirty workaround.
This error happens more often if I use Skype.

Having the same problem on Unity and Ubuntu 16.10. Regardless which of
the prorpietary drivers I use (367, 370, 375) it will result in a black
screen. Intel card works flawlessly though.
