I solved the problem disabling the FXAA Antialiasing override in the
nvidia-settings tool.

I have just upgrated from 16.04.5 LTS to 18.04 LTS clean installation but the
internal Right touchpad's button doesn't working. Whit 16.04 it's works fine

MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 is not an elan device.

unfortunately, even with your patch I could not make it to activate my touchpad.
I've created a kernel patch from yours, recompiled the kernel.
I tried both blacklisting hid_multitouch and removing hid_multitouch support in
kernel config. all

touchpad shows up under input devices as 'MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 Touchpad' but
doesn't work on linux (on windows it does work perfectly)
screen brightness control doesn't work too
