appear to go to sleep mode (i.e. the LEDs will start indicating sleep
mode). However, it appears to not suspend completely and the system
produces a lot of heat while it is in this state which is rather

The behavior is still the same after I updated the BIOS (which was quite
a pain, by the way because the Lenovo BIOS update ISO only works on CDs
and cannot be booted from USB drives. Thus I had to install Windows to
install the update and then install Ubuntu again).

I have now tested it with 3.14.0-031400-generic kernel and the problem is still
the same.
I have attached the report from /var/crash

There is no difference there. My first attempt to suspend the system
resulted in a crash. I have attached the crashlog from /var/crash.
